Incompatible Routers & Modems

The following routers and modems may need to be replaced if problems persist after making Transport and NAT adjustments and the recommended router changes.

  • Linksys WRT100

Sparklight modems

Sparklight modems running the following firmware are also incompatible:

  • 7.2.4.1.4B9

Note

Home-grade routers are suitable for 1–5 users and will require some recommended setting adjustments. Modem/router combo devices or DSL/Cable gateways supplied by your ISP are suitable for 1–5 users, but are not recommended. For best results these devices will need to be placed in transparent bridge mode with a compatible router attached after it.
