How Fast Should My Internet Connection Be for Best Results with the Mango Voice Phone Platform?
As companies rely more and more on cloud-based services, it becomes critical to protect bandwidth for VoIP communications.
Recommended internet speeds
- Minimum: 20 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up
- Recommended: 50+ Mbps down and 20+ Mbps up
A good rule of thumb is to protect 1 Mbps up/down per Mango Voice phone at your location.
You can protect the VoIP (phone) traffic by using QoS on your router/firewall to prevent other devices or applications from using the bandwidth allocated to VoIP.

Excessive internet use, compared to your connection speed, can adversely affect call quality.
Streaming video or audio, online patient management systems, uploading large files, online backups, and similar activities all use bandwidth. The more your office uses the internet, the more critical it becomes to have a high-speed internet connection and to protect your VoIP (phone) traffic from other bandwidth-intensive applications.
