Google Voice Call Forwarding
While you wait for your numbers to port over from Google Voice, you can forward your numbers so calls keep reaching your team on Mango Voice. Follow the steps below to configure call forwarding for Google Voice.
- Add a 5 second wait to the beginning of the switchboard. Some calls will fail to forward unless this is in place.
- In Google Voice's website, add the temporary number as a linked number.
- Choose to have the code sent via phone call instead of text.
- Google will call the temporary number and provide a code.
- Instruct the customer to answer the incoming call to their Mango Voice phones and enter the code in the website.
- Select to have incoming calls forward to the now-linked temporary number.
- OptionalDisable other numbers that are being forwarded to.
Note: These changes have to be made at voice.google.com. If they are using admin.google.com they can assign phone numbers there, but the linking and forwarding has to be done in that user's voice.google.com account.
