Cox Call Forwarding

You can enable call forwarding from your phones or from MyAccount. If one option doesn't work, try the other.

Turning on Call Forwarding from MyAccount

When dialing the Forward To number, dial it exactly as if you are calling directly. See the following examples.

  • For a local number, you may only need to dial the 7-digit phone number.
  • For a long distance number, press 1 plus the area code.

Turning on Call Forwarding from a phone

  1. 1

    Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.

  2. 2

    Dial *72. On a rotary phone, dial 1172.

  3. 3

    Listen for the dial tone.

  4. 4

    Dial the number to where you want your calls forwarded. Enter the number exactly as if you are calling directly, such as 7-digit, 10-digit, or 1 plus the area code.

  5. 5

    Hang up.

Note: Your confirmation will be a stutter dial tone, then a regular dial tone, to let you know your Call Forwarding feature is now working.
